COMMUNITY LIFE & PRAYER | April 10 Week

How can we respond in prayer and celebration to the resurrection of the crucified Jesus? What does it mean for us today in our lives? What does it mean for a world full of pain, suffering, hurt, broken relationships? How can we both bring and embody hope to those around us? If Christ is resurrected and we are His living Body, the tangible expression of Him in this world, where is God leading us?

Please post those places where we can pray both for hope in your own life, and also for you to bring hope to those around you. Death has been conquered! Let us be people of the resurrection, albeit always grounded in the crucifixion.

This is perhaps an odd story, but it's about my role on my hockey team! My heart breaks regularly when I see how much anger these men have. I know some of it is "guys being guys", but I would just love to be able to play a role in their lives in showing them the way of the Cross. Prayer would be much appreciated! It is difficult to get beyond the topics of poker and partying on any average week...

Scott,
Your prayer request is definately something close to my heart. I will be praying for opportunities for deeper and spiritual conversations. Keep us posted.

Please pray for my place of work, a school. When I arrived before 8:30 this morning there were already a couple of crisis situations happening.

Also the next couple of months will be fairly stressful for me as I place 700 kids into classes that I need to create for next year and meet deadlines for the school board and reports for the government. Oh, and I only work half time.

Please pray that I will be able to do my job with an attitude that is honouring to God. Thanks.

Hello friends,
Cheryl and Scott, thanks for sharing that. You're in my prayers for sure.
As for me, I am in recovery mode still this week from an intense Easter week and in my exhaustion am feeling down and unmotivated in the midst of continued ministry and school work. Please pray that I might have "zoe" (vitality of life) and perserverance as I press on when pressing on is the last thing i want to do.
Additionally and more importantly, please pray for Mon as this stage of her pregnancy has her having sleepless nights which makes for harder days.
Thanks!

Greg - I think most of us students can relate to you on some level and we'll definitely be praying - especially since you have to persevere longer than us!

On a positive note - we had a short discussion before our hockey game about not retaliating and what not and had our first game ever with no penalties! (oddly enough, we won 4-1)...nothing significant, but small victories count too.
