COMMUNITY Life & Prayer | Week of September 23

I am re-posting last week's posting as this week's because people have already commented on it for this week!As I (Scott) reflected upon Gene's sermon on the early part Acts 6 and on our response in repentance (thank you, Rod), the following passage came to mind (if you weren't there on Sunday, check out the teaching in the teaching blog [up soon!]:

Colossians 3:12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Continue to pray for Sarah and her family as her father is terminally ill, and for Lindzie and her family as they deal with her mom's illness.
Continue to pray for one another through the prayer map (please let me know if you need your profile updated!).
And of course, please post your prayer requests/praises/stories/...

Hello friends,
As most of you know, Sept 30 we are doing a 6 week church wide focus on community. There are a lot of details as Gene is writing all of the material, Scott is compiling, formatting, and creating the actual books to be printed, Colin is mixing and producing an accompanying cd, a number of people in Student ministries are making DVD's, all to be done and printed before Sunday Sept 30, and ideally EVERYONE in the community get's connected in a small group for the six weeks... lots to pray for!

Thank you for your prayers, everybody. Dad had surgery on Thursday (Sept 20) to remove a tumor in his brain. That surgery was successful, though Saturday night he needed emergency surgery to remove a 4cm (yikes!) blood clot that had formed. Today (Monday) he walked (with help, of course) and even had his Tim Hortons coffee.
Dad's been given a 12-18 month prognosis, but he's strong and stubborn so we're hoping he'll make it longer than that.
So thank you again for your prayers, and pleeeease keep praying.

Sarah, we will continue to pray!

Per Greg's comment - thanks for your prayers. It was a really intense week and a half for me - especially with making the Acts video too! But everything is pretty much done! I think Christ Boyd is spending the day editing the videos, so he can definitely use some more prayer :)

Pray also that we as a community would approach this series with open eyes, ears and hearts - to be changed, to repent, to turn back to God...
