This morning for the divine offices, we read Psalm 121 and prayed for the persecuted. Psalm 121 says the Lord himself watches over us, both day and night, for now and for ever. What does this mean for the persecuted person? From what does the Lord protect the persecuted person? I'm reminded of Romans 8:28-39...no matter what, nothing separates us from God's love. So, clearly the Lord's protection does not mean a nice, easy, happy and comfortable life necessarily! What is He protecting us from then?
