 | You may remember this image from the two weeks when we did the Stations of the Cross and our Easter Celebration. The image is meant to represent Jesus after his resurrection, when Mary mistook him for a gardener. Gene commented that it took him almost the whole time of worship to realize it. Sometimes in the midst of this world, it is hard to see the resurrected Jesus! How do you need the hope of the resurrection in your life right now? How do those around you need it? Although I'm not too familiar with its workings, I know the Anglican Church of Canada has an important vote in June for its general synod on the issue of homosexuality. The church is deeply divided on this issue and bitterness is rising.
We may have differing views on homosexuality, but we are all the Body of Christ and the world will not see Christ in a broken, embittered Body! Pray for unity, restoration, healing and for this vote in June. That despite differences, the church would not de divided.

Thanks for your comment. As some of you know, I have a bit of an Anglican heritage. This is an urgent time for the world wide Anglican community and your prayers are much desired and needed. I had the opportunity to see and hear the Arch Bishop of Canterbury today, Rowan Williams (if you don’t know his significance in the history of the Anglican Church or the reformation, google it (!) or talk to me), which was really neat. He is a great speaker and obviously has a real pastoral heart for the Anglican Church at large. Many heated and loaded questions were thrown his way in light of the divisions in the Church currently, but he dealt with them in a gracious and dignified manner, pushing us back to being recipients of the word of God. So it was an encouraging day.
On a personal note. If you could pray for me that would be great. I often find transitions hard. With school ending, the spring beginning, my internship at spring ending and an internship with Launch beginning, among other things, I could use a prayer or two...and lots of patience and love!

I have some sad news for everyone. Donald Goertz's mother unexpectidly died yesterday from pnemonia. Please pray for him and Marion and their families as they grieve her death and celebrate her life. Let's also think of ways to support our fellow TILTers in this extremely difficult time!

An obvious area of prayer is for all of the families and people affected by the VATech shooting yesterday. We know that horrific tragedy occurs throughout the world everyday, but in the current climate of North America, we must recognize an urgent need for prayer for everyone affected by the shooting, which is really all of us. We await Jesus' coming again to end all suffering, but this does not prevent us from being God's hands and feet today - even if only in prayer for this situation.
I was struck that the shooter, as is so often the case, was desperately alone. Lack of relationships and human intimacy brings unspeakable suffering upon people. This is something else we should be praying through for our society in general! So much of our cultural tendencies prevent true intimacy...
