COMMUNITY Life & Prayer | Week of October 22

Gene led us in prayer on Sunday night, rooted in this passage from James 5:
13 Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. 14 Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

Who is going through hardship? Who is happy? Who is sick? What do we need to confess? Let's continue to pray for one another, for our community, and the world.

The Lauds Divine Office this morning (read it here) was Psalm 117 and the prayer was for the grieving. It would a powerful picture of how we can pray for the many people at TILT who are currently struggling with grief (we think of Sarah P, Lindzie K, Peggy M):

1 Praise the Lord, all you nations.
Praise him, all you people of the earth.
2 For he loves us with unfailing love;
the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever.

Praise the Lord!
